🌙 After hours

After-hours answering, without the per-minute bill.

Evenings, weekends, holidays, the lunch hour. Answello answers when you can’t, finds out who rang and why, and texts you the details. It is an AI assistant, not a call centre, and it says so. You pay for it once.

How after-hours answering works here

  1. Keep your number. You set your phone to forward calls you don’t answer, calls when you’re busy, and calls when the phone is off. Customers ring the same number they always have.
  2. It answers and says what it is. Your greeting, in a natural voice, and a clear line that this is an assistant.
  3. It takes a proper message. Name, number and what they need, following your script, with the number read back so it is right.
  4. You get a text. Urgent calls are marked, so the burst pipe at 11pm stands out from the quote request that can wait until morning. The recording and transcript are in your dashboard.

There are no night rates and no weekend surcharges. A call at 3am costs the same as a call at 3pm: the usual phone and AI usage on your own accounts, and nothing to us.

A live answering service, or AI?

Most after-hours answering services are call centres: trained people answering in your company’s name, billed by the month, the minute or the call. They are good at things an AI is not. Here is the honest comparison.

When a live service is the better buy: if a person has to reach your on-call technician in the middle of the night, if callers are often distressed and need calming, or if you are a medical practice that needs a signed HIPAA agreement from its supplier. Answello takes an excellent message. It does not dispatch.

Who uses it after hours

Trades above all: plumbers, heating and cooling firms, electricians, roofers and contractors whose phones ring while they are driving home or asleep. Also small offices that close at five, and owners running several brands who would otherwise pay for after-hours cover on each one. For daytime cover too, see our AI receptionist page.

Questions people ask

Does it answer on weekends and holidays?

Yes. It answers whenever a call is forwarded to it, at any hour, on any day, for the same cost.

Can it tell me when a call is urgent?

Yes. It works out whether a call is a real job and marks the urgent ones in the text it sends you, so you can decide what needs a call back tonight.

Do I need a new phone number?

No. You forward your existing number to Answello when you don’t answer, when you are busy, or when the phone is off. Customers keep ringing the number they already have.

Can it put a caller through to my on-call person?

No. It takes the message and texts it to you. If your business needs a live patch-through at night, a staffed answering service is the better fit.

Answer every call. Pay once.
