This policy explains what we do with your information when you use this website, write to us, or buy Answello. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
Answello is a product of Tradiant LLC, a company registered in Georgia. You can reach us at hello@answello.com about anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete what we hold about you.
The short version
- We do not run advertising trackers on this website.
- We never see or receive your card details.
- The Answello software runs on your server. While a licence key is saved, it downloads our public list of withdrawn licence keys from pay.tradiant.net once a day. That request carries no call data, recordings or customer data — like any request on the internet, it shows our server your server’s IP address. Nothing else is sent to us. Your calls, recordings, transcripts and callers’ details never touch us.
- We do not sell your information to anyone, for any reason.
When you visit this website
Our web host keeps standard server logs — the address your request came from, the page asked for, the time, and which browser was used. These are kept for a short period for security and to fix faults. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
WordPress, which runs this site, sets a cookie only if you log in or leave a comment. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Two typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means Google’s servers see your IP address when a page loads. We use no other Google service.
When you write to us
If you email us, we keep your message and your email address so we can answer you and so we have a record of what was agreed. We keep support correspondence for up to three years, then delete it. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.
When you buy Answello
Payments are taken through our own checkout. Tradiant LLC is the seller on the receipt. Your card details go to Stripe, our payment processor, and never to us. Stripe handles that data under its own privacy policy, which you should read at stripe.com/privacy.
From a purchase we receive and keep: your name or company name, your email address, which licence you bought, and the date. We need this to send you the software and your licence key, to send you updates, and because tax law requires us to keep records of sales. Sales records are kept for as long as the law requires, which is normally seven years.
What the Answello software collects
Nothing that reaches us. Answello runs entirely on a server you control. When somebody rings your business, the recording, the transcript, the caller’s number and the summary are written to a database on your machine and stay there. There is no usage telemetry and no shared cloud account. The only thing it fetches from us is our public list of withdrawn licence keys, once a day while a licence key is saved, and that request carries none of your call data. We have no access to any of it.
Your installation does talk to the outside world, using accounts that are in your name and billed to you:
- Your telephone provider carries the call and passes the audio through.
- Your AI provider turns speech into words and words back into speech.
- Anything else you connect yourself, such as a CRM you tell it to send leads to.
Those companies are your suppliers, under your own contracts with them. Their privacy terms apply to that data, not ours. We recommend you read them.
Please note that when you run Answello, you become responsible for the caller data it records, and for any data protection duties that come with it.
The one exception: the Looked after plan
If you pay us monthly to keep your installation running, you give us login access to your server. In the course of fixing something we may see call recordings, transcripts and caller details. We look only at what the job needs, we do not copy it anywhere, and we do not use it for anything else. Cancel the plan and the access ends.
Recording calls is your responsibility
Answello can record and transcribe telephone calls. The rules on doing that differ from country to country and sometimes from state to state — some require you to tell the caller, some require their consent. Because the software runs on your server and you write the greeting, complying with those rules is your job, not ours. Answello tells callers it is an assistant by default, and we strongly suggest you leave that in.
Who else sees your information
Only the companies we need to run the business: our web host, our email provider, and Stripe for payments. Each one only ever sees what it needs to do its job. We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. You can also object to how we use it. Write to hello@answello.com and we will answer within 30 days. There is no charge.
The one thing we may not be able to delete straight away is a record of a sale, because tax law obliges us to keep it. We will tell you if that applies.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom and you think we have handled your information badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would much rather you told us first, so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects people who have already bought from us, we will email them.
Questions about any of this: hello@answello.com.
